Today’s Blogmas post is a review of the two liquid lipstick sets from Morphe that launched for their holiday collection. There’s a ‘Paint the Town Nude’ set and also a ‘Paint the Town Red’ set. They retail for £12 a set and can now be purchased on Morphe’s UK site to avoid any shipping costs!
Morphe Paint The Town Red
Red lipsticks have never really been my thing as I’ve always found them a little too daring but after I used a red lip for my Christmas look that I posted yesterday (read – here) I really wanted to try out some more. It is Christmas after all!
Bonny – a vibrant classic red: perfect for the holiday season!
Lovely: An orange toned, lighter red.
Stunner: A very dark red with a blue tone that’s very autumnal! This one is a little bit dark for me personally but it is such a beautiful and well made shade.
I always get worried when wearing red liquid lipsticks because even the best formulas will give your lips a slight stain after removing them but I found that Morphe’s formula is so easy to remove and doesn’t leave a red stain on your mouth!
Morphe Paint The Town Nude
I have so many nude lipsticks that I honestly had my self questioning whether I really needed any more but £12 for three Liquid lipsticks? How can you even say no? I wear nude colours pretty much everyday so you can’t really ever have enough.
Sweets : As you can probably tell, this shade is very light and it’s a little streaky so I’d for sure reccomend applying two or three coats which they do reccomend in the product description of all of the lipsticks. This colour just screams 2008 concealer lips to me and so I’d probably just use it with a really dark lip liner or in the centre of another lip to brighten and create an ombre effect.
Dainty: This one is a much darker nude with a brown, caramel undertone and it’s my favourite out if this mini collection!
Lulu: This one is an orangey pink nude and I think it’s so cute for an everyday softer look!
I applied one of the nude shades to my lips for a wear test at 9.30 am. I found I had to top up a little bit on the centre of my lips at 2pm due to it cracking slightly and coming away where I had been eating and drinking. I then touched up the middle again at around 7pm and this lasted until I took my make up off at 11. So all in all they are pretty long lasting but if you’re going out all day I’d take the lipstick with you just incase!
Which was your favourite lip? Be sure to let me know!
