Like I’m sure many others are, I’m tired. So tired. Growing a baby is a pretty exhausting task on top of uni deadlines. With the exhaustion comes the back aches too.
Now I know, this is just the start of years of sleepless nights once my little boy arrives so it’s important to fit in some you-time before your baby is born.
I’ve found that having a warm bath is something that really relaxes me and helps me to sleep at night! It’s also a great way to bond with your bump as a lot of babies enjoy wriggling around when you’re in the bath as they love when you’re relaxed. So having a pamper night is a great excuse.
If taking a trip to the spa is too much then you can always create your own! Below I’ve included my favourite ways to relax in the final weeks of pregnancy.
Sanctuary Mum To Be Tummy Soothing Bath Soak
This soak contains organic oils to help soothe your skin. It also has replenishing milk protein to help moisturise and soften. Bath salts are amazing to soften your skin and relieve any itching. If you pour a generous amount under warm running water into your bath it will help you relax and give your bathroom a lavender scent. What’s not to love?
Sanctuary Spa Mum To Be Collagen Boosting Body Butter (£10.25)
This body butter melts into your skin and moisturises to provide a more elastic and smooth feeling. According to Sanctuary Spa’s website, It also contains “actives to help strengthen and boost collagen levels while helping prevent the appearance of stretch marks.” This product is great to use all over your body after bathing. I’ve had a multitude of compliments about how smooth my skin is when I’ve been at appointments thanks to using this so I’d highly recommend if your skin is feeling dry or irritated! I will note that it does have quite a strong smell but it is something that I find you get used to.
Side note: anything that mentions helping reduce or prevent stretch marks has got to be worth a try am I right?
Lush Mask of Magnamity Face Mask (£4.95)
I’ve talked about this mask so much on my blog and on social media, I’m sorry if you’re getting bored of it but I’m obsessed! As much as I think face masks do work to help your skin, it’s also a mental thing as you put on a mask and you know you have fifteen beautiful minutes of lying down and relaxing while the mask works its way into your face.
Garnier Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask (£2.99)
This mask is a god send. I know, there is more to life than face masking but it’s a good place to start. I’m always on the hunt for new masks to try and when I discovered this one a few months ago I fell in love! It’s super hydrating and helps to ‘wake up’ your face. This beautiful wrap of hydration can be purchased at Boots and Superdrug.
Make it romantic – light a candle (or five) … My Selection of Yankee Candles
Crackling wood fire – for adding the festivities. Smells like cinnamon, sandlewood and vanilla. Makes for the perfect relaxation candle.
Spice White Cocoa – also a festive addition, this one smells like caramel and butterscotch so if you’re a fan of sweet smelling candles you’ll love this one!
Pink Grapefruit – I honestly bought this for the colour but it smells of citrus and rose and is amazing!
Using scented candles promotes relaxation and will help you to feel chill!
I previously mentioned this product in my Pregnancy Essentials post (read HERE). I love to rub this into my stomach and chest after moisturising.
