Hi everyone, welcome back!
I’m a huge fan of Jeffree Star and so when I saw that this beautiful palette was in the site’s Cyber Monday sale I had to get my hands on it. It did take a while to arrive from America, however she is certiantly worth the wait.
The Beauty Killer palette provides a variety of different formulas to create a bold and dramatic eye shadow look that is bound to make a statement.
This palette offers ten shades with pan sizes a lot larger than the typical palettes on the market. Each pan contains 2.52g of product.
There are two glitter shades which are called Black Rainbow and Rich Bitch. Black Rainbow is a black colour with reflects of glitter. It’s an extremely pigmented shade so only a tiny bit is needed! The second glitter is Rich Bitch whch is a gold colour. I’d reccomend wetting your brush with some setting spray or fix plus before applying this shade as it is a little bit gritty and flaky on its own.
There are also four matte shades in the palette which are Star Power, Vanity, China White and Courtney. Star Power is a really vibrant and dramatic hot pink colour that is just what you’d expect from an artist like Jeffree Star! Vanity is a deep purple, almost black colour. China White is a really nice matte bone white shade which I love to use to set my lid after priming them. Courtney is a warm pale brown shade which works perfectly as a transitional colour for any look.
Finally there are four frost shades with a similar consistency to his highlighters, they are called Violence, Princess, Confession and Expensive. Violence is a sparkled purple colour, Princess is a pale pink which works great as a inner corner or brow bone highlight. Confession is a redish brown colour and Expensive is a gorgeous sparkled blue which I really do adore!
The palette has a shade for every occasion and for everyone’s tastes, a definite must in every make up lover’s collection. The shades are extremely buttery and pigmented and so only a small amount is needed on the brush for application of a flawless stay all day shade. To intensify some of the frost and glitter shades it also helps to wet your brush before application for that liquid metal effect.
I was immediately drawn to the bright colours in the palette although pinks and blues are usually way out of my comfort zone I had to give them a whirl. I took inspiration from MannyMUA’s youtube video on Jeffree’s palette, which you can watch through this link:
I used Star Power in my crease and halfway up to my brow bone and then I pushed the shade Vanity into the inner corner for some extra definition. For the lid and inner corner I used China White and then for my lower lash line I couldn’t resist using the gorgeous shade Expensive.
Although these colours aren’t necessarily wearable for everyday use, there’s no denying that bright colours are always fun to play around with! It’s always good to step out of your comfort zone every now and then.
Like all of Jeffree Star’s products, this palette is vegan and cruelty free which has to be a positive if you’re thinking of buying this!
